Lash Lift & Tints
What exactly is a Lash Lift and Tint?
A Lash Lift is a cosmetic procedure to curl and colour eyelashes permanently. With the new silicone pads technique used, there is no longer any need to perm your lashes with perm rods. The end result is not the artificial ‘dolly look’, but rather a more natural, softer look.

How long does a Lash Lift and Tint Last?
The change is permanent, but unfortunately your lashes are not. The lifecycle of your lashes are about eight weeks. So, it will become necessary to have regular follow up procedures if you want to keep those beautiful dark, curly lashes. Depending on your lifestyle, and/or medication and cosmetics, which may affect the lifespan of your lashes, you may need to see your MG Professional specialist every six to eight weeks.
But no sweat, as the procedure is painless, safe and very relaxing, this could be your hour of ‘me time’, where you can just lay back and enjoy the special treatment.
Some Pros of Lash and Lift Tint:

While the pros of a Lash Lift and Tint are great for looking and feeling your best, some ladies may experience some discomfort if they have sensitive eyes.
Even though this procedure is considered safe, it is necessary to take some precautions. Just as some cosmetic products may cause an allergic reaction, so too can this procedure. A skin patch test, 24 hours prior to a full Lash Lift and Tint procedure may be in order.
Some cons of Lash Lift and Tint:
- Possible irritation during the procedure
- Minimal benefits for short lashes
- New growth could create a messy look
- Lash lift may not take well

How is it done?
Arrive for your consultation makeup free. Altough a cleansing lotion will be used to remove any excess oil substances from your lashes.
Remove contact lenses. You will be keeping your eyes closed for the duration of the treatment, and that will not be ideal for a contact lens wearer.
Your lashes will then be placed on a silicone liftrods using glue-like, odourless eyelash adhesive. This will be brushed on to gradually glue all eyelashes to the pad.
Once all the lashes are in place, they will be covered with a perm solution. The solution goes only in the middle part of the eyelashes. The thioglycolic acid curling ingredient penetrates deep into the lash structure. It weakens and breaks the keratin bonds, thereby allowing the lashes to adapt to the curved shape of the silicone rod. This will take between 12 – 15 minutes.
After the curling process, the perm lotion will be removed by applying an acid neutralizer gel. Care will be taken to remove the products to minimise irritation to your eyes.
At this stage keratin bonds in the hair structure will reform and remain this way permanently.
Once the Lash Lift is complete, you can have your lashes tinted.
The tinting agent will be brushed on the lashes and left for about 10 minutes. The product will the be removed, and an easing formula will be applied to break the lash adhesive bondage.
Finally, your lashes will be cleaned. The silicone rods and pads will be removed, and you will be given aftercare instructions.
All that’s left is to enjoy your beautiful new look.
