Permanent Make-Up can seem like a daunting procedure, please have a look at our FAQ’s below to put your mind at ease.

Micropigmentation or Permanent Make up is the process of applying pigment (colour) into the skin.

Microblading is manually depositing pigments into the dermal layer of the skin, using a hand-held tool or “pen”. The Microblading “pen” has very thin, of the highest-quality blades / needles fixed on it that is used to create lines  in a specific pattern that resemble your natural eyebrow hairs. Microblading is NOT done with a tattoo machine.

This is the finest form of cosmetic tattooing, as the Microblading strokes are defined & crisp. Microblading will enhance the natural shape of the clients eyebrow, which will not look fake or drawn on.

If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, there’s more you need to know about this trending beauty treatment.

Due to all the body and hormone changes during pregnancy, many women want to indulge in a little self-care. But Microblading is not a safe treatment for pregnant women.

Here’s why:

  • There are no studies on the effects of pigments used in microblading and the chemicals they contain, or how they can affect the fetus, but best not to risk the safety of your baby for well-groomed eyebrows.
  • Numbing creams and gels help ease pain during a microblading/nano-shading session. These topical anesthetics often contain epinephrine, which may be linked to fetal tachycardia and cardiac problems.
  • Pregnancy hormones affect your blood circulation, and they make you more likely to bleed. Excess bleeding may lead to subpar microblading results, since it could fade the pigment or impact its absorption into the skin.
  • Some pregnant women experience hyperpigmentation (melasma), which is darkening of the skin around the mouth, cheeks, and forehead. This might cause your eyebrows not match your natural skin once the melasma goes away after pregnancy.
  • Similarly, you’ll likely experience bloating while pregnant. Microbladed brows may look slightly different once your bloating subsides after pregnancy and you may not be as happy with the result.

Are you breastfeeding?

I would recommend avoiding Microblading when breastfeeding too. That’s because if a mother gets an infection, she could pass it along to her nursing child.

I can confidently say I’ve never had any of my clients get an infection through a permanent makeup procedure, as all gloves and needles used in our microblading/permanent makeup procedures are sealed, sterile and disposible. But for precautionary reasons, you should definitely wait until you are done breastfeeding.

Active / busy lifestyles:

It is convenient for business women / mommies who do not have time to spend hours in front of the mirror in the morning. Permanent makeup is perfect for athletes & active people who participate in activities that normally cause conventional makeup to sweat off.

Little or no eyebrow hair:

Thin and sparse brows due to over-plucking/waxing can be beautifully rectified with Microblading. See some examples here. Hair loss due to illness such as Alopecia or medical treatment such as chemotherapy benefit greatly from Microblading. Not only by bringing back the illusion of hair and shape to the brow area, but most importantly, to boost their confidence that may have been lost due to the lack of eyebrow hair. Aging can also be the cause of thinning brow hair and gives the illusion of the face dropping. Microblading will be able to frame and lift the face, creating the illusion of fuller, thicker eyebrows. Immediately you will look more polished & youthful with Microbladed eyebrows.

Visual Impairment / Unsteady hands:

Permanent Cosmetics is the solution to perfect makeup, every day. Ladies with limited vision who find it challenging to apply makeup, should consider Microblading and/or other permanent makeup procedures to assist them in their daily makeup routine. Permanent Cosmetics will allow women to feel assured that their makeup looks flawless all the time.

Eyelash hair thins with age or genetically you may have very faint eyelashes. Permanent Eyeliner gives eyes the illusion of thicker lashes and also enhances the eyes.

Many ladies may develop allergies towards conventional makeup causing discomfort & even pain. Permanent Makeup is the perfect solution to have your best features permanently accentuated, without the irritation of allergies.

Thin Lips:

Permanent Lip Liner and Permanent Full Lip Colour can create the illusion of fuller, more youthful lips, bringing back the colour in one’s face. As it rebuilds the rim of the lip, Permanent Lip Colour will give the lips a smoother edge and detract from lines around an aging mouth.

Once your eyebrows have been anaesthetised, we will look at your facial proportions & specifically measure & draw an eyebrow shape that will accentuate your face the best. The eyebrow shape will be perfectly symmetrical and we promise that it will compliment all your facial features. Only once you are 100% confident with the shape yourself, will Microblading procedure start.

I work according to your skins undertone, overtone and  your natural eyelash colour to match the eyebrow colour exactly.

The procedure takes approximately 2 hours.

Your appointment includes a full medical questionnaire that will be given to you to complete before the procedure, as in some instances permanent makeup cannot be undertaken. Once the documentation is filled in, your expectations will be discussed, such as the permanent make up design & colour.

The area where the procedure will be done will be completely anaesthetised to make your experience pain free. Our permanent cosmetic procedures are performed using a digital, medical grade machine and the highest quality pigments. Everything will be explained to you with total appreciation that you have chosen me and trust me with your permanent cosmetics.

Permanent cosmetic procedures are considered permanent because the colour implanted into the skin cannot be washed off. However, as with any tattoo, fading can and often does occur, requiring periodic maintenance, colour re-enhancement or colour refreshing. The implanted colour will fade over time depending on your health, skin type and how well you take care of your skin.

Your comfort is incredibly important to me! First we will use a medical grade topical anaesthetic ointment (23% Lidocane & 7% Tetracane) that will numb your skin topically, then secondly the therapist will use a digital machine to numb the skin below the surface so that it makes the procedure painless.

To be honest, most of our clients fall asleep during the Microblading procedures as they relax whilst listening to the soft background music, lying comfortably. on our treatment bed.

Yes!  Our equipment and supplies are cleaned, sterilized & kept in a sanitary manner. New gloves are worn for every client during each individual procedure.
